Derby Festival 2015

I’m coming to Derby!!!  Whoopeee!  Also can I take this moment to say that some truly awesome people are coming, including Mike Carey (the nicest man in comics and author of so much good stuff it’s just daft, including Girl with all the Gifts, the Felix Castor books and the Lucifer comics); Paul McAuley who’s books I’ve been reading since long before I started writing and which still hold a proud place on my shelf; Sarah Pinborough, who as well as being the kind of human being I want to be when I grow up, has written scary fairytales, moving prose, deeply creepy crime (don’t read some of her Victorian stuff alone at night – but in a good way); and Jenny Colgan, who’s Resistance is Futile was an unexpected delight that I properly got excited about reading every time I opened my bag and found it waiting.  Maths and aliens; what’s not to love?  There’s many more amazing scribblers and SF dudes coming as well, but I’m not sure there’s enough multiple exclamation marks in the world.

So basically… pause to draw in breath… on Saturday 11th July I’ll be materialising in Derby with many incredible people to chat and gossip about books and life.  It’ll be fun – come play!
