I like Stratford. I can see it getting a bit touristy, but I'm never there more than a day, and from the sound of it this is a good thing. I noticed that as well as swans there are also geese. They seemed very friendly when you had food, but positively indignant when you didn't.

Sadly the trains there always seem to be against me. Admittedly I last went a couple of years ago. I found that while I could catch several trains that would get me to Stratford with ample time to wander around before the play started, there were no suitable trains to get me back. Now this would be understandable if I lived somewhere out of the way, but as Birmingham is the closest major city -and as the tracks that connect it to Stratford are called the Shakespeare Line- you would think the needs of theatre-goers might have been taken into account.

I think I should try to go again though, before I'm no longer under-25, hopefully the trains will be kinder.

Having lived in Stratford Upon Avon for more than a decade I never get board of the place, with all the tourists coming and going it always has a holiday feel. Always something going on from the River Festival in the summer to the Christmas markets in Decemeber. You're welcome any time!
