Midsummer Nights Dream Pt.2

Posted on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010 in: Misc.

So, remember how a few months ago I lit a production of Midsummer Nights Dream?  I got some photos now… full credit to Ian Latimer for taking them!

I feel I should mention our tech crew... as a lampie, it's after all my duty to do so! Thus, meet Louis, ASM, designer and to his surprise, sound op.

And meet our photographer, Ian, also an ASM and designer.

And somewhere in the shadows here, you'll find myself and my fellow LX nerd, Sam. Regrettably, I have no photos of our Production Manager, Pele, or our DSM, Sinead, for the simple reason that techies are just not the stars of the show...

Oooooo, nice lighting! From the point of view of someone who likes to photograph live music, I know how tricky it is to pick up subtleties of lighting, so kudos to your photog, he’s got these pics just right. MND is my favourite play by the Bard, and I would have liked to have seen this production. Your lighting works very well indeed.

Very Dramatic Photos .. particularly that which is labeled ‘ I feel I should mention our tech crew… as a lampie, it’s after all my duty to do so! Thus, meet Louis, ASM, designer and to his surprise, sound op.’

Clearly ‘ Louis, ASM, designer and to his surprise, sound op.’ MUST henceforth be known ..and indeed Renowned .. as ‘ LOUIS Prince of DENMARK ‘

As from His Remark to the ‘ lampie s ‘….
whilst Striking that Pose ..

Completely unrelated to your post, but I was sad to see that the new Horatio Lyle release was pushed back to October. I was so excited to finally get my hands on it next month! I suppose I shall have to continue to be patient – it will absolutely be worth it.

Not at All un-related Jess! Well, not much.

I, too, am Bloody …er .. that is to say .. Miffed in an English Stiff Upper Lip sort of way.

I have the Horatio Lyle series up until now in a neat little Hard Back sequence but, since no mention of them in H.B. has there been, I went so far as to advance order the paperback .. which was delayed, and now has been delayed again. Snarl, Gnashes Teeth !!!

Kate .. LOTS of mainstream BIG name authors .. inc Rodger Zelazney .. have started at the lowest step of the pyramid but few have been lumbered with the present days mid-pyramid publishing obsession with Marketing and DISCOVERING the next Rowling/ Harry Potter Niche Player Mega Bucks Super Success.

See this little article …

Mike Moorcock was making similar points a last year in the letter column of an the S.F journal ‘ Prolapse ‘ .. can’t find the particular letter .. but, also, the literary fate of even the most Famous in Their Time can be found in the various memories that his contemporaries, fans, friends and acquaintances have of Science Fiction and Fantasy Author John Brunner ..

Scroll down to ‘The Melting Pot ‘letter column and you will find a letter by me among others …

It always was tough to make a living as a full time professional author, but .. and Now ?

We are in the midst of a time of changes wherein Kate/Catherine Webb will be glad of a having a solid core of theatrical technical work to fall back upon in times when her publishers are being difficult.

That being said I am grateful that genetics have granted me a good set of teeth against the tooth gnashing irritation of books that I look forward to being delayed yet a Bloody Gain!

On Kate’s other incarnation … doesn’t She Look Cute in her Publishers ‘Little Brown Group ‘ page authors photo, here ..

In defense of Little Brown, Lyle 4 as far as I am aware and as amazon.co.uk claim, is still due for publication in July…
