At the climax of the play, when Macduff (?), strides on holding Macbeth's bloody head aloft, the actor, having had enough of the heckling from the front rows, tossed the head over his shoulder, where it bounced neatly off-stage, bowed, flicked the 'V's' at the audience and marched off.
